Super Mario Bros – World 1-4
Short castle, one lesson: firebars, chains of fireballs that rotate around a block. They cannot be killed, only timed. Watch one full rotation, then walk through when the bar points away from your path.
There is a power-up in the question block early in the corridor, and you want it, because the last room has two firebars close together over a narrow floor. Small Mario fits through more easily; Fire Mario can shoot the fake Bowser at the end instead of jumping over him.
About that Bowser. In the first seven castles he is a stand-in, and five fireballs reveal what he really is. Or skip the fight entirely: jump over him when he leaps, run past, and touch the axe on the other side of the bridge. The bridge collapses, whatever is on it falls, and the world is finished.
